Game Overview
Brotato is a top-down arena shooter roguelite developed by Blobfish and published by Erabit. Players control Brotato, a potato capable of wielding up to six weapons simultaneously, tasked with surviving waves of alien attacks. The game features fast-paced combat and a progression system based on item acquisition and character upgrades.
Key Features
- Weapon System: Wield up to six weapons at once, chosen from a diverse arsenal including flamethrowers, SMGs, and rocket launchers. Weapons can be manually aimed or set to auto-aim.
- Character Progression: Acquire various items and stat upgrades during and between runs. These include offensive bonuses, defensive enhancements, and utility items.
- Roguelite Elements: Each run offers different challenges and opportunities for builds. Death is permanent for a given run, but meta-progression elements may carry over.
- Wave-Based Combat: Survive increasingly difficult waves of aliens, each culminating in a boss encounter.
- Character Variety: Choose from a selection of distinct potato characters, each with unique starting stats and abilities that influence gameplay.
- Difficulty Scaling: The game incorporates multiple difficulty settings, allowing players to adjust the challenge level.
Gameplay Mechanics
Players navigate arenas, dodging enemy projectiles and engaging in combat. Resources are collected from defeated enemies and spent in a shop between waves to purchase new weapons, items, and stat upgrades. Character stats include health, damage, attack speed, critical chance, armor, dodge, speed, and various elemental resistances.
