Game Overview:
Frostpunk is a city-building survival game developed and published by 11 bit studios. Set in an alternate late 19th century, the game depicts a world ravaged by a global volcanic winter. Players assume the role of the leader of the last city on Earth, tasked with managing its resources, infrastructure, and citizens to ensure their survival against the unrelenting cold.
Key Features:
- Resource Management: Gather essential resources such as coal, wood, steel, and food to maintain the city's generator, construct buildings, and feed the population.
- Generator Management: The massive steam generator is the heart of the city, providing heat. Players must manage its output and upgrades to keep citizens warm and prevent freezing.
- City Planning & Construction: Design and build various structures, including housing, workshops, medical posts, and resource collection facilities, optimizing layout for heat distribution and efficiency.
- Law & Order: Implement laws through the Book of Laws, which directly impacts society's values and provides solutions to emergent problems. Choices range from child labor to drastic medical procedures.
- Hope & Discontent: Monitor and manage the city's Hope and Discontent levels. Low Hope or high Discontent can lead to unrest, mutiny, and ultimately, the city's downfall.
- Exploration: Dispatch scouting parties to the frozen wasteland to discover new resources, survivors, and story elements.
- Technological Development: Research new technologies at the workshop to unlock advanced buildings, generator upgrades, and efficiency improvements.
- Multiple Scenarios: The base game includes several distinct scenarios, each presenting unique challenges, objectives, and narrative paths.
