Progression often requires careful timing and understanding of enemy patterns and environmental hazards. Key features include:

• Hand-drawn animated cutscenes: A significant portion of the game's narrative is conveyed through pre-rendered animated sequences.
• Rotoscoped animation: Character movements are based on filmed actors, contributing to a distinct visual style.
• Varied environments: Levels include dark caverns, alien landscapes, and underwater sections, each presenting unique challenges.
• Environmental puzzles: Solutions often involve manipulating objects, avoiding traps, and utilizing specific abilities gained throughout the game.
• Combat encounters: Andy primarily uses a plasma cannon, with weapon upgrades affecting its projectile capabilities. Strategies involve precise aiming and dodging.
• Limited lives system: The game utilizes a traditional lives system, with continues available upon depletion.
