Layers of Fear: Inheritance is an expansion to the psychological horror game Layers of Fear, developed by Bloober Team. This downloadable content (DLC) shifts focus from the disturbed painter to his daughter, offering a different perspective on the events that transpired within the mansion.
Players navigate the same Victorian mansion from the base game, re-experiencing locations through the eyes of the painter's daughter. The narrative explores the impact of the painter's descent into madness on his family, specifically his child. The gameplay incorporates puzzles and environmental storytelling, typical of the genre, to gradually reveal the daughter's experiences and memories.
The DLC is designed to expand upon the lore of Layers of Fear, providing additional context and a new viewpoint on the existing storyline. It is intended for players who have completed the main game and wish to delve deeper into its narrative complexities and character motivations.
