Product Overview
Metro Exodus is a first-person shooter developed by 4A Games, featuring a narrative-driven campaign set in a post-apocalyptic Russia. The game combines elements of survival horror and stealth, requiring players to manage resources such as ammunition, filters for gas masks, and medical supplies. Players assume the role of Artyom as he leads a group of Spartan Rangers away from the Moscow Metro and embarks on a journey across the continent, seeking a new life in the east.
Gameplay Mechanics
The core gameplay loop involves exploration of large, open levels, often traversing them with a customizable locomotive called the Aurora. Players will encounter various human factions and mutated creatures, necessitating strategic combat or stealth approaches.
- Weapon Customization: A robust crafting system allows players to customize weapons by scavenging parts from the environment and workbenches. Modifications include sights, stocks, magazines, and barrels, affecting weapon statistics and performance.
- Resource Management: Survival mechanics are prominent. Players must scavenge for crafting materials, ammunition, and maintain their gas mask, which requires filter changes in hazardous environments.
- Dynamic Weather and Day/Night Cycle: Environmental factors impact gameplay. The day/night cycle affects enemy patrols and visibility, while dynamic weather conditions can alter combat scenarios.
- Moral Choices: Player decisions throughout the narrative can influence the game's outcome and the fate of companion characters. These choices are often subtle, impacting the morale and survival of Artyom's crew.
