Tactical Top-Down Shooter
RUNNING WITH RIFLES is a top-down tactical shooter featuring open-world combat and emergent gameplay. Players assume the role of an ordinary infantryman and participate in large-scale, dynamic battles. The game emphasizes tactical positioning, cover, and resource management over run-and-gun action. Battles involve numerous AI-controlled soldiers and vehicles, creating a sense of a living battlefield.
Gameplay Mechanics:
- Open World: Navigate non-linear maps with various objectives and enemy positions.
- Cover System: Utilize environmental objects for protection against incoming fire.
- Squad-Based Elements: While primarily a solo experience, players can issue basic commands to nearby friendly AI.
- Persistent Campaign: Progress through a dynamic campaign where objectives and territories shift based on player actions and AI engagements.
- Weapon Variety: Access to a range of firearms, grenades, and special equipment.
- Vehicle Combat: Operate or ride in jeeps, APCs, and tanks.
- Resource Management: Ammunition and medical supplies are finite and must be managed effectively.
- Stealth Mechanics: Utilize bushes and tall grass for concealment and flanking maneuvers.
- Ranks and Promotions: Gain experience and rise through the military ranks, unlocking new abilities and equipment.
Multiplayer & Modding
The game supports online multiplayer with dedicated servers, allowing for large-scale player-versus-player (PvP) and player-versus-environment (PvE) battles. A cooperative "invasion" mode is also available, where players team up against AI forces. RUNNING WITH RIFLES has an active modding community, with support for user-created content that alters gameplay, adds new factions, weapons, and maps.
