The Wandering Village is a city-building simulation game developed by Stray Fawn Studio. Players construct and manage a settlement on the back of a giant, wandering creature known as an Onbu. The game features a unique premise where the environment itself is a living entity constantly moving through various biomes. Key features include:
- Dynamic Environment: The village is built upon the back of a colossal creature, the Onbu, which continuously moves across the game world. This movement directly impacts resource availability and environmental hazards.
- Biome Exploration: As the Onbu travels, it passes through diverse biomes, each presenting unique challenges and opportunities for resource gathering and settlement expansion.
- Resource Management: Players must gather resources such as food, water, and building materials to sustain their population and expand their village. This includes farming, foraging, and establishing supply chains.
- Onbu Interaction: A core mechanic involves the relationship between the villagers and the Onbu. Players can research ways to communicate with and influence the Onbu's behavior and health, impacting the village's survival.
- Research and Development: Unlock new technologies, buildings, and agricultural methods through a research tree to improve the village's efficiency and resilience against environmental challenges.
- Survival Elements: The game incorporates survival mechanics, requiring players to protect their villagers from harsh weather conditions, toxic plant life, and other environmental threats encountered during the Onbu's journey.
- Building Customization: Construct and arrange various buildings, including housing, farms, workshops, and defensive structures, to optimize the village's layout and functionality.
