Overview
Wildermyth Console Edition is a tactical, turn-based RPG with procedural generation. Players guide a party of heroes through their lives, from humble beginnings to powerful legends. The game focuses on character-driven narratives, where the choices made and events encountered shape the unique stories of each playthrough. Combat is grid-based and tactical, emphasizing strategic positioning and ability usage.
Key Features
- Procedural Storytelling: Every playthrough generates a new set of characters, events, and world elements, leading to unique narratives. Heroes develop relationships, gain rivals, and undergo physical transformations based on their adventures.
- Tactical Turn-Based Combat: Engage in grid-based combat encounters. Utilize environmental cover, flanking maneuvers, and character abilities. Enemies possess varied behaviors and strengths, requiring adaptable strategies.
- Persistent Heroes: Heroes age, form legacies, and can retire or fall in battle. Surviving heroes carry their experiences and transformations into future campaigns or into a "legacy" pool for new games.
- Paper-Theater Aesthetic: The game features a distinct visual style reminiscent of paper craft and storybooks, contributing to its narrative focus.
- Cooperative Multiplayer: Play through campaigns with up to five players in online co-op.
- Five Classes: Choose from five distinct hero classes: Warrior, Hunter, Mystic, Tinker, and Morthr. Each class offers unique abilities and development paths.
- Moddable: The PC version supports extensive modding, allowing community-created content. (Note: Console edition modding capabilities may vary.)
